The hotel location is pretty good, close to the gion neighborhood. The room, ryokan style with a futon,is big by Japanese standards. But the best about the hotel are the two super nice guys at the front desk. They speak English ( even some Spanish!) and were always very helpful. Also, don't miss the rooftop onsen, a very good way to end the day.
Clean & modern & non smoking, Nice Japanese style room with small private garden. Also friendly & helpful staff. Downsides were small & very basic bathroom, general lack of room for luggage & its contents, and paper blinds which let the sun stream in in the morning.
